The Companies Behind the AI Buildout

We're watching the businesses benefiting as AI investment moves from compute into physical infrastructure.

Pillars: Power • Sustainability • Capital
Signal: Very Hot

GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV)

Power • Generation • Grid Infrastructure

Vertiv is where the AI infrastructure story moves inside the building.

Q2 sales reached $3.27 billion, up 24%, while adjusted operating profit jumped 51%. Vertiv raised its full-year guidance and now expects roughly 31% organic sales growth for 2026 at the midpoint. Vertiv Results

And this is becoming increasingly important because AI isn't simply increasing data-center electricity consumption.

It's increasing power density.

That changes cooling, power distribution, UPS architecture, rack design and ultimately facility design.

What to Watch: Liquid cooling adoption, high-density rack deployments and Vertiv's expanding manufacturing capacity.

IOI Take:
The GPU may get the headlines. Vertiv gets paid to keep increasingly dense clusters powered and cool.

Pillars: Power • Sustainability
Signal: Very Hot

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE)

Onsite Power • Fuel Cells • Data Centers

Pillars: Power • Water • Sustainability
Signal: Hot

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT)

Power • Cooling • Data Center Infrastructure

GE Vernova just reported $24.2 billion in Q2 orders, up 88% organically, while backlog climbed to $176 billion. More importantly for us: its data-center orders have already exceeded $5 billion YTD - more than double its entire 2025 total. Gas turbine equipment backlog and slot reservations have reached 116 GW, and the company expects at least 125 GW by year-end. GE Vernova Results

Why IOI Is Watching: This is the “Follow the AI Cash Flow” thesis playing out almost perfectly. Hyperscaler CapEx Data Centers Electricity Demand Generation Turbines Grid Equipment.

What to Watch Next: Turbine manufacturing capacity, lead times, grid equipment orders and how much of GE Vernova's incremental backlog can ultimately be traced to data-center load.

IOI Take: NVIDIA tells us how much compute is coming. GE Vernova is increasingly telling us how much physical infrastructure will be required to turn it on.

Bloom remains one of the most interesting companies in the entire IOI universe because it attacks perhaps the industry's biggest problem:

Speed to Power.

Its Q2 revenue hit a record $1.065 billion, up 166% year over year, with product revenue up 215%. Bloom raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $3.9–$4.2 billion, roughly 100% growth at the midpoint. Bloom Energy Results

That growth matters because fuel cells increasingly offer data-center developers an alternative path when utility interconnection timelines don't match construction schedules.

What to Watch: More hyperscaler/data-center agreements and whether fuel cells shift from a bridge-power conversation into a permanent part of AI-campus power architecture.

IOI Take: The question isn't simply where can we find electricity?

It's becoming...

Who can deliver reliable megawatts fastest?

Bloom has built its entire AI infrastructure opportunity around that question
